description

This indicator integrates a risk rating based on climatic hazards, including floods, heat, heavy precipitation, droughts and wildfires. It provides a quantitative basis for understanding exposure of assets to current and future environmental hazards. The risk rating supports managing and prioritizing climate risk and mitigation strategies, helping businesses and governments to prioritize and justify investments in climate adaptation and resilience measures.

methodology

The indicator aggregates asset-level climate hazard assessments accomplished through our partner Climada using an open-source climate modeling framework and building on regionalized climate models as used by the IPCC model ensembles (CMIP6).
